If you are running CRM 2011, there is an improved version in the blog post following this one using custom activities (http://leontribe.blogspot.com/2011/06/slightly-more-elegant-codeless.html)Leon Tribehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05713816319075495059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719332149137711434.post-9105145615544647132011-07-29T21:45:07.395+10:002011-07-29T21:45:07.395+10:00Brilliant Article, I tried this and realised this ...Brilliant Article, I tried this and realised this can be very useful for any company running CRM.herohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15274781292602536611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719332149137711434.post-21400211732656096082011-06-16T20:47:36.216+10:002011-06-16T20:47:36.216+10:00George has correctly pointed out that rather than ...George has correctly pointed out that rather than hack the xml, we could just access the search through the Activities area of the sitemap. It would require dropping down the activity type but it should work I think.Leon Tribehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05713816319075495059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719332149137711434.post-77788047322935248482011-06-15T23:12:36.754+10:002011-06-15T23:12:36.754+10:00Fellow CRM MVP George Doubinski. Suggested making the Universal Search entity an activity entity and then we can take advantage of the 'Regarding' lookup saving the need to have a column per entity in the quick search view. While this works, I cannot find a way to bring the view into the sitemap short of hacking the xml. So if you are happy to edit the xml, this may be a more elegant solution.Leon Tribehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05713816319075495059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719332149137711434.post-53602699462450983092011-06-10T22:40:30.417+10:002011-06-10T22:40:30.417+10:00It strikes me you may need a third workflow to han...It strikes me you may need a third workflow to handle if the record is deleted. In this case I would change the status of the corresponding universal record to inactive so it no longer appears in the quick search resultsLeon Tribehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05713816319075495059noreply@blogger.com
